Storytime with the ‘Birds and J. Ivy

Children’s stories lay the foundation for community and cultural values. This summer for Night Out In The Parks, Eighth Blackbird will partner with Chicago’s performance poetry icon J. Ivy and to create a safe, socially-distant opportunity to come together through the experience of storytelling. Presenting “The Smallest Girl in the Smallest Grade” by Chicago children’s musician and author, Justin Roberts, the performance will also feature other terrific tales. In accordance with Be Safe Chicago Guidelines for Parks and Recreation Activities, participants in this activity will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing at all times while participating. Patrons who are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 are asked to stay home and join us for an event when symptoms subside.
